Ropes and Knots

Notes from hanging a rope 35 feet up a tree.

Today I hung a rope from a tree, about 35 feet up. The process was relatively easy, but also frustrating.

I followed the advice of a guy on youtube (link here). The video is just plain awful and hard to follow. However, the guy is clearly some kind of rope genius. I think he must work with ropes/knots, as he intimately understands them, when to use which one, and how to think about how various knots perform in various situations.

I appreciate his knowledge and wouldn't mind understanding a bit more of that myself.
